His highly publicized “legacy deal” as Cassper calls it, with Drip Footwear, when it was announced caused a stir on the streets with many people weighing in on the deal. Hip Hop commentator Scoop is one person who hasn’t been shy o let his opinion known when it comes to the deal. During the latest POPcast episode, Scoop praised Cassper for the moves he makes when it comes to business and he also shared his doubts about Cassper’s R100 million deal.
“If we look at if we have to like study someone who’s really made it work financially to be a rap artist. If we look at someone who’s really like if you want to follow someone’s business moves he’s the guy to follow. Like he’s really done well even now during COVID. If you look at I’m not talking, I mean I don’t know if it’s a 100 million rand deal I doubt it but whatever it is, that coupled with what he’s getting now for the braai show, you know,” said Scoop.
Fellow co-host Muchie also agreed with Scoops comments and noted that Cassper’s decision to stop trying to appear cool and rather focus on the money has been beneficial to the rapper. “You’re right about him, he always puts money first,” Muchie added. Muchie went on to explain, “I think what Cassper did very well, business-wise, is he stopped trying to look cool and then he focused on his finances. Sometimes oaks are trying to look too cool they’re trying to impress their boys, they’re trying to come across as a, b and c. That’s how you get these bad deals that just make you look cool but then we find out later that whoops.”
