Malome Vector Affirms On Releasing New Music Under His Own Record Label. Rappers who do not intend to pursue careers as independent musicians must rely on music labels. Almost every rapper who has already created a name for themselves feels compelled to form their own group, giving birth to new performers.
SA hip hop has been marred with record labels that have been making headlines for all the wrong reasons. This has propelled rappers to launch their own record labels and Malome Vector is the latest rapper to do so.
Taking to Twitter, the Lerato chanter stated that he will be dropping his first single tomorrow under his own record label The Whole Entertainment. “I’m dropping first single under my own company tomorrow #Senatla #ThewholeTimeEntertainment,” tweeted Malome Vector.
There has been no word about Malume Vector leaving Ambitiouz Entertainment since the rapper revealed that he will be releasing his new single through his own label. Malome Vector is no stranger to producing hits. In recent years, he has made a name for himself in his home country of Lesotho with local singles such as “Khosi,” “Nobodym,” “Ichu,” and “Motho Waka.”
The rapper relies on the vibrant musical tradition of Lesotho and hip-hop, which he has a lengthy history with after beginning as a combat rapper. His unique kind of Afro-pop combines these inspirations. Malome Vector was well embraced at Ambitiouz Entertainment, a label whose musicians take delight in fusing their cultures into their music.
It’s unclear at this point whether he quit Ambitiouz Entertainment or will be splitting his time between the two record labels now that he’s started his own record company.
