YoungstaCPT Remembers Riky Rick A Year After His Untimely Passing. Today marks one year since the tragic passing of SA hip-hop superstar Riky Rick. Boss Zonke influenced the game in so many ways and his legacy will forever be remembered.
Taking to Twitter, Youngsta CPT took time to remember the late fellow rapper and friend since the two had a very close relationship. The Kaapstad rapper reminisce on the good times he shared with Riky Rick and expressed hope that they will meet in the next life. “Simpler times… See you in the next life bru,” tweeted Youngsta CPT.
Riky has not only been remembered by Youngsta CPT, but his fans and everyone who was inspired by his work will be gathering in Braam to honour his work. Taking to Twitter, Cotton Fest organizers confirmed that there will be a meet-up in Braam to honour the life of Boss Zonke one year after his death.
“JOIN US Cotton Eaters, let’s get together to remember the life of Riky Rick on Thursday, 23 February at Newtown Junction – 100 Carr Street, Newtown WE NEVER DIE, WE MULTIPLY!” Read the tweet.
Riky passed away after it was claimed he committed suicide. Boss Zonke’s passing cast a huge shadow on Mzansi as a whole as well as the music industry. Recently, the SA music industry lost yet another superstar, AKA who died after he was gunned down in Durban.
After the tragic passing of AKA, YoungstaCPT released a song dedicated to Benni McCarthy in memory of AKA. The rapper said that he had never made a song of about before and he felt he should do one honouring Benni McCarthy. “I’ve never made a song about a famous personality before. People have done songs and albums for international figures like Pablo Escobar to local stars such as Bob Mobena, David Genero, Doc Shebeleza etc,” he said.
