Lady Du Responds To K.O Diss. K.O. in his Freestyle 23, where he made it known that this year he will be addressing things slammed amapiano sensation, Lady Du. The rapper took a jab at the latter after insinuating that she said his hit song SETE would never top the charts.
Speaking during an Interview with SA Hip Hop Mag, Lady Du responded to K.O. after attacking her saying that she did not release any song last year. “Let me tell you something about people that don’t check numbers”, she said referring to K.O.
Lady Du clarified her stance by pointing out that she has a higher social media following and far more music streams than K.O. “Go to my socials and check how many followers I have, go to his followers. Then you go to my music and then you go to his music, I’m not gonna say anything after that. Check the numbers and don’t go write a song, check the numbers first,” she added.
Lady Du went on to say that she realized K.O. was out to settle a score after learning that the Skhanda World boss was conspiring with her previous manager who was stealing from her. “Firstly, Blxckie and Young Stunna are my friends, I’d never say anything that could harm them ever, but in the same breath he works with my old manager, remember the one that stole money from me?”
“So to me, I found out only on social media when somebody sent me a video from Musa Khawula that he (K.O) works with my old manager and they were probably trying to settle a score. I don’t come for people’s bread and butter, I don’t do that, that’s one thing I would never do.” Lady Du said.
As much as K.O.’s diss track garnered a good reception amongst his fanbase not everyone was in support of him dissing Lady Du. Taking to Twitter, prominent SA hip hop DJ Zan-D stated that the rapper’s diss to the amapiano superstar was unnecessary.
Zan-D also questioned why would K.O be touched by something that people don’t even know. “That diss was unnecessary though. I mean: nobody knew about that story until he mentioned it. Why would K.O. be so touched over something that nobody knew even happened.” Tweeted Zan-D.
