“Amapiano is boring” – Lucasraps. The dominance of the Amapiano genre in the SA music industry posed a threat mostly to the rap culture. SA Hip-hop was deemed dead with some rappers making a massive exodus to the amapiano wave.
However not all rappers have the ear or the interest to hop onto the Yanos sound, Lucasraps is one of them. Despite the dominance of Amapiano, Lucas did not shy away from giving laurels to the rap culture. “HipHop 4L hai I’m sorry. It’s funny how every time HIPHOP ALWAYS MAKES IT SHAKE.” He tweeted.
The Durban rapper went off on the timeline stating that Amapinao is boring and he doesn’t care what people say about the sound. “Amapiano is boring. I don’t give a f*ck what you say in the comments. Lmaooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!! this shit boring asf,” tweeted Lucasraps.
In another tweet, the rapper stated that he is Hip-hop forever, urging his supporters not to be misled into believing that Amapiano is good. “HIPHOP 4L piano is wack. Don’t let them cap you. Anyway enjoy it,” Lucasraps wrote.
During an interview with The Plug, Lucasraps stated unequivocally that he has no beef with Amapiano or any other hip-hop rapper, even (Phori), who has joined the trend.
“He’s (Phori) just super busy and I’m busy on my side trying to push my things, he’s trying to push his,” the young rapper said. “But when we see each other, we’re cool, man. There’s no issue, there’s no beef, there’s no smoke. I don’t have no problem with [amapiano], it’s just that I’m a hip-hop ni**a.” Lucasraps said.
Lucasraps recently released new music “uMuthi” and he appreciated his hip-hop fans for giving the song a good reception. The rapper is currently working on the song’s music video as he anticipates bigger things ahead. “Thank you to everyone that’s been listening to uMuthi. Life has been super lit lately, hope y’all are ready for the “uMuthi” Music Video! It’s from there,” he wrote.
