Nadia Nakai Remembers AKA A Month After His Passing. Nadia Nakai is still failing to come to terms with the passing of AKA who was shot in Durban along with his friend, Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane.
Today marks a month since AKA was assassinated in Durban and Nadia Nakai who is still mourning took time to remember his boyfriend. Taking to Instagram, Bragga voiced her anguish and her refusal to accept that the Supa Mega is no longer with us. “It’s been a month, it feels like yesterday. Please can someone undo this.” She wrote.
AKA was laid to rest on the 18th of February at the Westpark Cemetery in Johannesburg. A moving memorial service was hosted with friends and family paying tribute to the slain rapper. Yanga Chief was one of AKA’s friends who delivered a speech which was also dedicated to Nadia Nakai.
The Xhosa rapper revealed the conversation he had with AKA about Nadia Nakai with the slain rapper opening up to Yanga Chief that Nadia changed his life. To Nadia, the first time I asked Kiernan how was your relationship going, he did not hesitate to tell me “bra this is it for me, Nadia saved my life” I thank you for loving my bru and bringing back to him after we thought we have lost him the first time. He loved you so much,” said Yanga Chief.
Even in the midst of grieving the passing of a loved one, Nadia Nakai still found solace and reminisce some of the good moments she shared with AKA. Bragga featured AKA on a song called Dangerous, which she said was composed as an integral part of their love language.
“It was like a part of our love language. It was something we used to do, just the two of us in the living room. It was amazing that the moment we’d get together and make music it was from a lovers’ perspective and not just two artists collaborating together that’s why it was special to me,” Nadia said.
